I am the founder and creative force behind www.zoicamatei.com, a fashion designer on a mission to create sustainable apparel. My slow fashion philosophy is reflected through my every day conscious choices, while creating timeless pieces, collectibles, which embrace simplicity of form, and focus on detail. I am also a devoted green reader, blogger, and member of sustainable organizations. I come to your site for the interviews, profiles and stories about female artists, and all the amazing, talented people you feature. Their stories are so inspiring! I love your DIY section, Fashion, Video and I would like sometime soon to compete in your contests! I definitely love to go through the “Reader of the week” and I would be thrilled to be part of your selected ones.

Hiya! I'm an artist and illustrator in Boston who subscribes to your feed, and I love reading the "you" column, the music section and the Arts in the Culture column. I have a couple of blogs that I post entries in daily. I share about my life as an artist and the works in progress at http://www.shandke.blogspot.com/. And I just re-opened the Community Sketchbook at http://www.communitysketchbook.blogspot.com/. I've recently become a full-time artist, and I look forward to new opportunities with my career. And I hope to soon be moving closer to NYC!

I'm a huge fan of Venuszine magazine. I feel I would make a great "Reader Of The Week" for several reasons. 1. I love to read progressive books catering to the environment, Music, interesting folks as well as pioneering movements in culture -- pop or otherwise. 2. I currently write for the huffingtonpost.com green section, I've integrated music and the green movement in previous articles. 3. I'm almost done reading The Credit Crises of 2008 By Soros and can submit a article bridging the gap between the economy crises and effects this has on the current independent music scene. 4. My next read is; Things The Grandchildren Should Know By Everett -- the lead singer of The Eels. (Remember to catch his PBS show this month). 5. Passion. I have it in abundance. (Oodles of it).

I love sharing and connecting with people. I am an artist in Detroit and work at a college of art and design i also travel alot to recruit young creatives into our school. I have tons of students in my face book and my space group and I don't even want to talk about the twittering. I have to be in constant contact with prospective students and alumni and with other creative folks. I just love sharing your information with them so the more you give me the more I will post- I travel to Florida, Illinois, California, Louisiana, and Wisconsin. I also show my work in those states in galleries- I am on carbonmade - sabrinanelson.carbonmade.com - I would love to be a featured reader so I could share post with friends and also get them to subscribe to venuszine I love all that you do -

I'd like to be reader of the week because I'm a loyal reader - for 3 years now. I've also had 3 letters to the editor featured so you know I'm opinionated. I'm also writer, a freelance graphics artist for a non-profit organization working to treat troubled teenaged boys, and a knitting enthusiast who makes her own Christmas cards every year by cutting out and piecing together paper holiday scenes. I think I could be a very interesting RotW.
GCTEETH (over 3 years)
I think I'd make a faaaahbulous reader of the week; i'm a self made billionaire (not really) and the designer behind the clothing line GCTEETH. I'm only 19 but in the past two years i've developed my line to have a large creative presence in my city. We've expanded to putting on fashion shows and selling online, and I think a lot of other young entrepreneurs would be interested in hearing about my experiences. I've been an avid reader of Venus for a while now and would love to contribute! xoxo, gemini

Because I'm a alt model, fine art doll artist www.uglyart.net ,clothing deconstructionists/reconstructionists and designer and general renaissance woman. In a time and place where "artist" usually means you paint pic's of sad eyed kids to be apart of the hipster crowd I actually make art with feeling and a message.

i would LOVE to be featured as the reader of the week! i'm and indie artist/crafter that was able to quit my day job to do art and design at home full time in march of 2008, and it is the best job ever! hearts and laserbeams hearts you!

Former Reader of the Week Bonnie Rue aka Model Citizen suggested that I apply to be a future Reader of the Week and frankly, when smart ladies give me advice I listen. My name is Natalie but most of the Internerd knows me as the sass-mouth behind Bake and Destroy (http://nataliecakes.wordpressom) By day I'm an Internet Communications Manager at a "green" e-commerce site, by night I'm baking, blogging, photographing and dreaming up new gear for my Etsy shop. Who invented the Mac & Cheese Cupcake? Me. Who made Jason Voorhees cupcake toppers for Friday the 13th? Me. Who should be your next Reader of the Week? Yeah, buddy. You know it.

i'm a publicist for PETA by day and a music and art freelance writer by night. i have BOTH of my dream jobs and i get to explore all of my passions in life...and i think this is what Venus Zine is about - exploring passions. besides my vocations, i'm obsessed with hats, finding a new bike to ride, cruelty-free fashion, using my voice in life, the rescued dog i live with, cool modern fiction, and new music. i'd love to be the reader of the week because i would be in great company! thanks for considering me!

I would love to be featured as reader of the week and here’s why I think I fit the bill. Not only am I an avid reader of the magazine and VenusZine.com, but I also look to publications like Venus Zine for encouragement in my own career as a journalist. With the media industry being hit so hard in today’s economic climate it’s hard to get excited about my future in this field. But seeing magazines like Venus Zine do its thing against all odds helps me keep my head up. In 2009 my hope is to blossom into a true media maven. In the d.i.y. spirit of Venus Zine, last year I launched a pro-woman news and pop culture blog known as GeorgiaMae.com, which I’m feverishly promoting these days. I’m a full-time arts and entertainment writer for a weekly based in Louisville, Ky., but I also freelance for national publications such as Heart & Soul, a health and fitness magazine for women of color. I also have an essay featured in the recently released book “Yes Means Yes: Visions of Female Sexual Power and a World without Rape.” If you think I have what it takes to be reader of the week find me on Facebook. I’m a friend of Venus Zine, of course.

Coolest? Probably not, but I am probably on the higher end of a list or people with multiple talents, interests and skills converging into art. Photographer, writer, artist, dancer, pianist, singer, baker, poet, theorist, environmentalist - I'm perpetually a student of life and a believer in making all life better in any way shape or form that I can. I work hard and don't ask for handouts. That's what I feel like I'm here for. I want to spread what I can share to the world. While nothing I believe in is entirely new or revolutionary, it is my approach that will make a difference. "Do everything with heart, with meaning, do it all the way or don't do it at all" is one of the many mantras I adopted about 20 years ago. So how old does that make me? Well maybe I'm 40, or maybe I'm 21...if you pick me, maybe I'll tell you, but I think we'd have far more interesting things to discuss besides our measures of time. For more quotes and ideas I'd like to share, please investigate some of my work here: http://www.rachelwolfe.com http://keepyourshuttersopen.blogspot.com/

I'm a student researching the different ways men and women approach rock & roll in the Chicago music scene - I'd love to be featured as Reader of the Week to give my project some exposure among Venus Zine readers so that I can hear their opinions! I want to make sure that I'm hearing voices from women in music in my project.

I am a fashion and beauty photographer in Los Angeles, originally from Chicago. I have a project, or rather a collection, of images that I have created to empower women taking on one of the most courageous battles in life by struggling with their hair loss due to illness/treatment. I feel that this is appropriate for Venus Zine because it demonstrates the bond between the female artist, the female subject, and its audience. This project is entitled, "The Bald Beauty Collection" and can be viewed at www.hodaamelabdalla.com. Thank you for the consideration and best of luck to all other readers. - Hoda Amel Abdalla
