Get Hands-On Experience and Have Fun!

Interns must be at least 18 years of age and able to commit to a minimum three-month internship. In general, interns work a minimum of one day per week and a maximum of three days. Internships are unpaid and a great way to gain valuable hands-on experience in writing, editing, promotions, sales, and events management.

Editorial Internship
Want to get your hands dirty in the editorial process of putting out an internationally circulated magazine and website? Venus Zine's edit internship is best suited for candidates who are organized, eager to learn, and who hope to work as editors or writers. Prior experience with copy-editing, fact-checking, and writing is a plus. Please send cover letter, resume, and three writing samples to Jill Russell at jill [at] venuszine.com. Deadlines for editorial internship applications are as follows: Spring (Jan thru Apr/May): November 15; Summer (May/June thru Aug) April 1; Fall (Sept thru Nov/Dec) July 15.

Events Internship
Interested in learning more about the business side of magazine publishing? If you're a whiz at coordinating events, dealing with the public, research, and basic data entry get in touch with Selena Fragassi at selena [at] venuszine.com. Please submit your resume and cover letter. Applicants must be Web savvy, knowledgeable of Excel, and comfortable talking on the phone and in public.

Design & Photography Internship
Do you know the difference between Helvetica and Futura? Can you color correct like no other? Interested in both print and Web design? If so, send your resume, cover letter, and samples of your work to Art Director Denise Gibson at denise [at] venuszine.com. Successful candidates must have strong design and typography skills. Must be able to work quickly, thrive under pressure, and take art direction well. Must be highly skilled at InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Web experience preferred.

Fashion Internship

Do you shamelessly stalk fashion blogs and magazines for runway looks and inspiration? Pride yourself on discovering the latest Etsy boutique or new designer? Venus Zine's fashion internship is best suited for candidates looking to get hands-on experience in fashion editorial for both print and web. Advertising and Marketing Internship

If you can't just take the first no you get as an answer, and love being creative about working with sponsors and advertisers, this is the internship for you. Advertising and Marketing Interns help identify cool companies that should advertise in Venus Zine. They send out media kits, make phone calls to the client companies, and assist in overall marketing strategy and execution. Venus Zine Street Teams

We are looking for tastemakers and Venus lovers in all the major urban markets in which Venus Zine is distributed and read. As a Venus Zine Street Team member, you'll represent Venus Zine at events where we are promoting the magazine. You will  look for Venus Zine on newsstands and let us know if the stores are running low. And, if you come across great venues, stores, or people that we should be covering online and in print, you are our official Scout.
