Venus Zine was a co-sponsor of the High Fidelity Showcase on Saturday October 23rd, held in the cozy, eventually sweaty confines of the Studio at Webster Hall. Saturday Astrology, Blip Blip Bleep, Deadbeat Darling, My Dear Disco, and Black Taxi were brought together by HMG Associates and MezzoForte Productions. By the time Black Taxi, the final band of the night, took the stage, excitement ruled and the '80s Prom party geeks from upstairs at Webster Hall had joined the fun. Venus Zine commissioned Brooklyn artist Erin Cadigan to custom design a limited edition CMJ Venus Zine T-shirt. Erin screen-printed them on site, and the shirts were handed out fast to eager fans and band members. We also previewed our Winter issue of Venus Zine, out on November 2nd, featuring the amazing cover girl Janelle Monáe.

All the bands Saturday were good - but Deadbeat Darling's performance was the best - by far!!

The guys from Saturday Astrology were adorable. And My Dear Disco was amazing, with their smoke machine and Michelle singing thru a bull horn.
