The Simpson family currently, and as they were.
Kelley Hecker Loves The Simpsons (up until season 10 or so)

I vividly remember sitting in Mrs. Jazak’s second grade class at good ol’ Oak Knoll elementary filling out a personal survey. One of the questions was “What is your favorite TV show?” My friend leaned over and asked me how to spell “Garfield” as I scribbled down Beverly Hills, 90210, much to my mom’s dismay.
I don’t really know why I put that down. I mean, I did like 90210. I had a T-shirt with the original cast; a bright pink, yellow, and blue sleeping bag with drawings of Brandon and Dylan; and all the Barbies—Kelly, Donna, Brenda, Dylan, and Brandon. (I guess Andrea, David, and Steve didn’t get dolls.)
But 90210 was hardly my favorite show. My parents say I started watching The Simpsons back when it premiered on The Tracey Ullman Show. I don’t remember that at all, but I do remember scrambling to watch new episodes every week when I got a little older. Those same episodes still entertain me as much now as they did then, if not more so.
I think the show’s been complete shit for years now, but man, those first 10 seasons or so are SO GOOD. My younger brother has the DVDs and lately I’ve been plopping down with them and quoting the show far too often, though thankfully I have yet to do so in public.
The little bro’s graduating from high school in May, and should be moving to Iowa in August. I don’t care that he’s leaving—I’m just keeping my fingers crossed he doesn’t pack up the DVDs.
…Just kidding, Matt! Kind of.
