Sarah Collins loves Ghosts in the Machine Tape Art

Iri5's "Ghosts in the Machine" line of artwork recreates artists in their medium, in this case, tape. Iri5 unspools the tape from cassettes to create iconic rock and roll images of everyone from Betty Davis to Tom Waits. It's not just a gimmick — she's able to perfectly recreate the musicians with only tape, using no paint of any kind, showcasing them alongside their work. If musicians aren't really your thing, she also does actors like Bettie Page and Audrey Hepburn out of old film reels. So much for dead format.
