Oldbay

K.Tighe loves Old Bay Seasoning

For a Baltimore girl like me, summer will always mean crab season and no crab feast is complete without at least an inch of Old Bay seasoning slathered atop my crustaceans.

German immigrant Gustav Brunn created the seafood seasoning in the '40s, when crabs were given away for free and bars wanted patrons to purchase beverages. Well now, McCormick owns the seasoning and has no trouble getting people in Maryland to purchase crabs or the seasoning.

With it's nice and spicy taste, why limit Old Bay to seafood? Try out these personally tried and true combinations: Old Bay and popcorn; corn-on-the-cob; eggs; fried chicken; and even potato chips.
