I’ve got a soft spot for unique and creative travel experiences, right down to where I lay my head. The Thunderbird Hotel in Marfa, Texas, has a reputation as an arts destination. With its modern design wrapped dramatically by mountainous desert, I imagine it’s as romantic as it is eerie.
Hotel walls host an international art collection and rooms are stocked with organic beverages and snacks. Polaroid cameras and vintage Stack-O-Matic record players can be found in every room, with the hotel supplying the film and access to their personal vinyl record collection. And with a vintage typewriter on the table next to your bed to pound out your next literary masterpiece, you just might never leave your room.
