Equal parts fine art, musical theater, and technology-driven identity crisis, Austin-based Jill Pangallo's multimedia performances and videos are hilarious and a little traumatizing. Pangallo's recent performance Let Me Entertain You (a part of the 2009 Texas Biennial at Austin's Fiesta Gardens) documents her emotionally wrought and totally entertaining attempts to connect via cell phone, Facebook, and YouTube. Did I mention the chorus of newsies, curtain made of Santa beards, and human-size dancing cat complete with scratching post?
