Whenever I buy an old t-shirt from the thirft store, I often wonder where it has been: a winetasting in Italy, a safari in Africa, or even a pretty cool concert right here in the states. Now, rather than creating some sort of fantastical story of a t-shirt, you can track the story of a t-shirt and add your own.
Re-Shirt Story Store came about through a social experiment that posed the question, "Do products last longer if you know their story?" The process goes as follows, someone puts a t-shirt up with the story of the important memory attached. The t-shirts are given a orange re-shirt label with a number and from then on, anyone who finds the t-shirt in their hands can document its happenings.
It gives people a connection to their clothes which hopefully motivates them to hang on to it rather than allowing it to end up in a dumpster, but with a price tag of 25 euro, you might want to choose wisely.
