K. Tighe loves From the Heart

Never has the word "love" been included in so many song titles within one CD collection, but in the spirit of Valentine's Day, I'll let it slide. Legacy Recordings just launched its From the Heart series with nine collections of smoooooth tracks from iconic artists — but this is so much better than those collections you see on late-night infomercials.

My curiosity was peaked when I noticed that my hometown girl Billie Holiday was included, and I was further swayed by one of my favorite country crooners, Dolly Parton — you know, she's the one with the really big … hair. I was absolutely hooked by Aretha, although, sadly, the album cover doesn't show her rockin' that inauguration hat.

It should be noted that From the Heart also includes collections by the oh-so-80s Air Supply along with Babyface, Miles Davis, The Isley Brothers, Etta James, and Frank Sinatra.

Cheesy? Maybe. Classic? Definitely.
