There’s just something so endearing about couples that make music together. Love is Chemicals is made up of husband and wife Nate and Courtney Grover — guitar and bass, respectively —along with guitarist Nick Mirov and drummer Steven Galbraith. With cute- and whimsy-titled songs like “Over Land Over Sea,” “The Blossom and the Butterfly,” and “Claw Your Sweater,” this quartet mixes melodic indie pop with the sweetest of harmonies.
Love is Chemicals plays with Portugal. The Man, Girls, and Agent Ribbons at 9 p.m. on February 28 at Cafe Du Nord.
Venus Zine writer-photographer Camille Ikalina-Robles is at San Francisco’s Noise Pop festival from February 26 to March 1. Follow her throughout the weekend on VenusZine.com and on Twitter.
