Camille Ikalina-Robles loves Cryptacize at Noise Pop

Indie-folk band Cryptacize calls Oakland, California its home and is part of the eclectic mix that makes up the Asthmatic Kitty Records roster. With its simple and poppy musical arrangements and onstage antics — Cohen plays a miniature drum set — Cryptacize’s music entertains visually and with an openness that makes their music instantly catchy.

Cryptacize opens for St. Vincent at 8 p.m. on February 27 at Great American Music Hall.

Venus Zine writer-photographer Camille Ikalina-Robles is at San Francisco’s Noise Pop festival from February 26 to March 1. Follow her throughout the weekend on VenusZine.com and on Twitter.
