Next time you hop on the Internet to perform a search, consider skipping Google and Yahoo for an eco-friendly alternative. Ecocho.com searches the same pages as Yahoo but with an added bonus: for every 1,000 searches, the site donates two trees to offset carbon pollution emissions.
With all the trees being cut down to build yet another Starbucks and McDonald's, it is refreshing to see an easy, free way for Internet users to help the environment. Going green isn't always cheap and one of the best things about ecocho.com is that I can hug the Earth without spending a dime (always good news for my college student budget).
If the environmental benefits aren't enough to persuade you, there is always Cho Cho, the site's adorable tree mascot. Cho Cho is so cute; I am tempted to become a virtual tree-hugger.
