Amy Kaufman loves Mistake By The Lake Tapes

For all who deemed cassette culture as dead, you're still right, but I bet nobody expected cassettes to come back in fashion during a time when even CDs are becoming obsolete. At just 21 years old, entrepreneurs Andrew Kirschner and Zach Troxell of Cleveland, Ohio's Mistake By The Lake Tapes are one of several indie labels specializing mainly in cassette as a medium. Others include Chicago's Catholic Tapes and 905 Tapes of Delaware.  These particular labels are definitely geared to those who love it loud, so don't be surprised if you can't find a familiar name on the roster.
