After a few close calls on unforgiving ice patches in my traction-less fall footwear, I knew it was time to suck it up and buy something weather appropriate. Scared that the only thing I would find would be moon boots a la Napoleon Dynamite, I scoured the Web for an alternative, and there they were…

Waterproof, and impenetrable in every way, the Sorel Caribou boots are the answer to the winter blues. They even have fleece lining on the inside to keep my feet cozy in the harshest winter conditions -- like digging my car out of the snow. And they’re cute to boot (no pun intended).
